In Loving Memory of Adrienne Sawchuk 

January 8, 1954 - May 10, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce that Adrienne Sawchuk passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on May 10, 2025, at Royal University Hospital [Saskatoon, SK] at the age of 71.

Adrienne was born in Saint Isidore-de-Bellevue, SK. on January 8, 1954, to parents MarieAnge and Pierre Gareau. In 1974 she married the love of her life, Emil Sawchuk, and together they raised 3 children.

Adrienne was a prominent figure in Saskatchewan's Francophone community, particularly known for her leadership in senior advocacy and cultural initiatives. She worked for the Fédération des aînés fransaskois, La Troupe du Jour, Saskatchewan's only professional Francophone theatre company, and volunteered her time to many other French initiatives in the province.

She was predeceased by her parents, Pierre and Marie-Ange Gareau; and siblings, Liliane Gareau, Laura Gareau, Reginald Gareau and Lorraine Agnew.

Adrienne is survived and dearly missed by her husband, Emil Sawchuk; her children, Nicole Sawchuk (Darren Tanguay), Vincent Sawchuk and Erika Sawchuk (Kris Harding); and grandchildren, Jackson Harding, Alexis Tanguay, Isabelle Tanguay and Natalie Harding. She is also survived by her siblings, Marie-Paule (Stuart) King, Laurier (Simone) Gareau, Henry (Darlene) Gareau and Lionel Gareau; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who were cherished and loved.

Adrienne's legacy lives on through her cherished family and the many lives she touched with her kindness and generosity.

The family wishes to send heartfelt thanks to the RUH ICU team for their exceptional skill and compassion in caring for Adrienne.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Adrienne's life will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Saskatoon Funeral Home, 338 4th Ave N, Saskatoon, SK. All are welcome to attend and honor her memory. For those unable to attend the service, the family invites you to join the service via livestream.
