Alan (Al) Dawson passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024 with his family by his side. Al was born on June 12, 1946 in Dinsmore, SK to Roger and Edith (Steele) Dawson. He attended school in Welcome Valley (often having his mother as his teacher) and in Dinsmore.
Al moved to Saskatoon and worked in the trucking industry until his retirement. He travelled across Canada and the United States for various companies. For several years, he operated his own company hauling within Canada.
Al loved fishing at Saskatchewan Lakes and watching the CFL, especially the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He enjoyed traveling to his favorite travel destinations, but it was always by car, never by plane. In his retirement years, you would often find him in Tim Horton's enjoying a coffee and a donut.
Al leaves to mourn his passing, his daughter Leanne and granddaughter Jaidyn of Saskatoon, son Shane of Saskatoon and his son Dallas (Christina) of Mission, BC, his dog and buddy Fritz, his sister Myrna, and the mother of his children Karen (Ken) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Al was predeceased by his parents Roger and Edith, his sister Dorothy and brother-in-law Allan, his brother-in-law Phil, his brother Gary and his niece Lynette.
The family would like to thank the nurses and care aides at Oliver Lodge for the care they gave to their dad. Dad's favorite nurses Ashley and his best buddy Jess provided our dad with love and compassionate care, especially these last few days.
It is our father's wish that there be no funeral service.
