Alyson Bourassa

Alyson passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025 at the age of 54 in Stensrud Lodge in Saskatoon.

She was born to Adrien and Agnes Bourassa on April 17, 1971 in Estevan, Saskatchewan. She lived a full life in Estevan and later in Saskatoon. She attended school in Estevan until she was 21 years old, and then transitioned to the sheltered workshop program in Estevan. After Adrien passed away, Alyson and Agnes moved to Saskatoon where she was able to participate in the work training program at the Saskatchewan Abilities Council for 18 years. When her difficulties with vision left her unable to continue with this program, she was able to transition to a day program also run by the Abilities Council. She was able to attend this program for 10 years until just a few months ago when her health problems limited her ability to participate.

After moving to Saskatoon, Alyson lived with her mother for a few years and then was able to move to a group home under the umbrella of Luthercare. She thrived in her group home, made good friends and became very attached to her caregivers.

With her health failing, Alyson moved into Stensrud Lodge where she lived for 6 weeks until she passed. She was predeceased by her parents, Adrien and Agnes, as well as her siblings Brian, Gary and Barbara. She is survived by her sisters Dale ( Eric), Carol (Bill), JoAnn (Scott) as well as her brother Lorin (Alisha), many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. 

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Luthercare and her support workers at the Abilities Council programs. Their work improved Alyson's quality of life immeasurably and we will be forever thankful for their presence in her life.

A Memorial Service for Alyson will be held at the Edwards Family Center, 333 4th Avenue North, Saskatoon, on Friday, November 21, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Parking is available across the street at Saskatoon Funeral Home.
