Angus McDonald
April 18, 1931 – July 4, 2023
“Death was the gate and the long way was sorrow, Love is the end”
Angus was born in the Carlea area of Saskatchewan to Peter Angus McDonald and Georgina Hunter McDonald (nee Smith).
Angus had a lifelong passion with motorcycles, classic cars and fixing all things mechanical.
He had many varied interests over the years including being the past president of the Saskatoon Rifle and Revolver Club, a founding member of the Saskatoon Sports Car Club and a life member of the Shooting Federation of Canada. He spent 40 years in the motorcycle business from 1948 –1988, first with Nicolson Bros and then with Hub City Honda which he co-owned.
His last employment was with Flexicoil where he enjoyed the challenge of learning to use the CNC Lathe.
He loved tinkering in his shop and would gladly help fix things for people who asked. He took up the building of scale model airplanes in his later years. He was incredibly skilled with his hands.
A great read for Angus was studying a technical manual.
He attended the Bigger Bike vintage bike rally for many years, enjoying the company of enthusiasts from all over.
He married Alice Olbort in 1984 and they spent the next 34 years living in Saskatoon. He shared a love of dogs with Alice and Bendix became his special buddy with whom he shared many adventures and made many friends walking his dog. Their last dog, Daisy was a special comfort to them both.
