Barry Smith

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Barry Smith.

Barry was born in Tisdale, SK on August 12, 1959 and passed away in Saskatoon, SK on September 3, 2024, following a hard fought battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife Christina, children Christopher (Audrey) Smith, Alexander Smith, Kimberly Smith, step-children Jason (Jeska) Boire, Clint (Amy) Boire, and Treena (Colin) Skaalid. He will be dearly missed by his many loved grandchildren; Kayden, MacKenzie, Scott, Isabelle, Zoe, Drew, Matthew, Lawrence, Chase, Laine, and Farryn. He will also be missed by his two sisters Christine (Richard) Hillis, Tiffany (Keith) Bryenton, and nieces Marin Wilcox (Andrew Taylor), and Rian Smith. Barry is predeceased by his father Harry Serhan, and mother Winnifred (Basil) Smith.

Barry was a dedicated worker and took his first job as a mechanic at RJK Mobile Mechanics. He then went on to begin his time as a heavy duty mechanic in the mines with Thyssen Mining and ending his career with Procon Mining at the Brucejack Mine in British Columbia.

Most importantly he was a devoted family man and friend to many. He had many passions in his life some of which were tending to his flowers and garden, his fish, and beekeeping.

Barry will be so missed by all his family and friends and his memory will live on for many years in many ways.
