THOMAS, Beatrice Viola (Ogilvie)

Beatrice Viola Thomas (Ogilvie) of Saskatoon, SK passed away peacefully November 16, 2023, at the age of 90.

Predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Norman Thomas; her siblings, Roy (Flora) Ogilvie, Hazel (Henry) Hodges, Jean (Donald) Munro, Gordon (Val) Ogilvie and Earl (Millie) Ogilvie; and in laws, Beryl Thomas and Howard (Dorene) Thomas.

She is mourned by: daughter, Brenda (Arnold) Hicks of Hartney, MB; sons, Bob (Barb) Thomas of Nanaimo, BC and Ken (Joan) Thomas of Vanscoy SK; her grandchildren, Matthew Hicks, Fraser Thomas, April Thomas and Dallas Thomas; great grandchildren, Travis and Kadence Roy; and her cherished nieces and nephews.

She was born June 26, 1933, near Ardath, SK.  After graduation from high school, she attended Normal School in Saskatoon.  She met Norm in her first year of teaching and they were married in 1953 and lived, farmed and raised their family near Vanscoy where they were deeply involved in all aspects of community life.  Bea actively farmed beside Norm until she returned to the work force as Village Administrator in Vanscoy until her retirement in 1998.  Between the Saskatchewan Flying Farmers and calling Square Dances, Norm and Bea made friends across the province and country. Throughout life, Bea eagerly anticipated any and all gatherings with the Ogilvie family.

A Celebration of Bea’s Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Saskatoon Funeral Home, 338 4 th Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK.   Flowers gratefully declined.  Those so wishing may make donations to Delisle Vanscoy United Church, Box 98, Delisle, SK S0L 0P0 or the charity of their choice.
