Bernice Gertrude Holowenko

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Bernice Holowenko on December 16, 2024 at the age of 92. She was one of 7 children born to Fred and Irene Hodge.

She lived her early years by fielding where she attended Kesytone School until the family moved to the farm 8 miles southeast of Speers.

After school she moved to Saskatoon, where she met and married Alex Holowenko (deceased) in 1956. Together they had two children, Theresa (deceased) and Stan.

Bernice and Alex were actively involved in the Handicap Association for many years. Bernice filled her days with gardening, crocheting, reading and babysitting.

She leaves behind her son Stan, grandson Lyle (Samantha), granddaughter Charlene (Jordan), great grandchildren Ellie Rose and Avery Jade; three sisters, one sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Bernice was a very positive person. Whatever came her way she accepted it and just made the best of it with never a complaint. She loved unconditionally and was happy and enjoyed life.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at St Paul's Lutheran Church (627 Taylor Street). Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Saskatoon.
