Boris (Bo) Andrew Wachniak passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, March 13, 2026 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He was born on July 26, 1955 and grew up in the small town of Gronlid, Saskatchewan prior to moving to Saskatoon.
Bo had many interests throughout his life, with fastball and horses being his primary passions. He played on many fastball teams in his early years, winning numerous awards. He also owned and cared for many horses over his lifetime, often participating in cutting competitions across Western Canada as a member of both the National and Saskatchewan Cutting Horse Associations.
Bo spent 31 years working for the City of Saskatoon in Building Maintenance/Operations, beginning at Lions Arena and later transferring to Saskatchewan Place upon its opening on February 9, 1988 (Saskatchewan Place ' Credit Union Centre ' Sasktel Centre). Bo retired from the City of Saskatoon in 2010 and continued to work for a handful of other organizations after such time.
He is survived by his children: his son, Eli (Maegan); his daughter, Bailey (Aryn); his step-son, Greg (Heather); and his granddaughter, Iris. He is also survived by his brother, James (Ursula), and their children, Leanna, and Nicholas.
He was predeceased by his father, Andrew (d. 2001); his mother, Lena (Zamrykut; d. 1976); and his brother, Dennis (d. 1953).
A funeral will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at 10:00 am at Saskatoon Funeral Home, 338 4th Avenue North, Saskatoon. A viewing is available prior to the service beginning - from 8:30 am until 10:00 am.
