It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden and unexpected passing of Brian Norbert Mamer on February 8, 2026, at the age of 63.

Brian, the fourth child and first son of Norbert and Elaine (née Godart) Mamer, was born on January 15, 1963, in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. He was raised in Lake Lenore, where he attended school and graduated in 1981. From an early age, Brian had a passion for anything with a motor - especially snowmobiles and vehicles - a passion that naturally guided him toward his career. After high school, he attended Kelsey/SIAST to become an automotive mechanic. Brian dedicated 32 years of his career to Saskatoon Motor Products, where he was respected for his skill, work ethic, and loyalty. Over those three decades, he built not only a career but many lifelong friendships.

On July 7, 1984, Brian married the love of his life, Jean Sarauer. Together they settled in Saskatoon, where they built a home filled with love, laughter, and strong family values. They welcomed their daughter, Chelsea Rae, in August 1989, and their son, Shayne Brian, in July 1991. Brian was a proud and devoted father who took great joy in watching his children grow and build lives of their own.

Family and friendships were at the heart of Brian's life. He and Jean shared countless memories gathering with their neighborhood friends - friendships that quickly grew into lifelong bonds. Family trips were a treasured tradition, whether camping adventures or magical vacations to Disney. Barrier Lake held a particularly special place in Brian's heart. Many cherished memories were made at both the Mamer and Sarauer family cabins, where Brian shared his love of the outdoors with his family - fishing, boating on the lake, and snowmobiling in the winter. In recent years, Brian and Jean fulfilled a lifelong dream by purchasing their own cabin at Barrier. His family is especially grateful for the last year and a half spent creating precious memories there, and they will continue to honour him in the place he loved most.

Brian's greatest pride and joy were his five grandchildren. Nothing made him happier than having the kids out at the cabin or on the acreage, teaching them to ride on the many motorized toys, patiently baiting their fishing hooks, and cheering them on in all they did. He was so proud to see both Chelsea and Shayne purchase acreages to raise their families, and he found deep happiness in watching the next generation grow.

Brian will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his devoted wife, Jean of RM of Aberdeen, SK; daughter Chelsea (Tyler) Hartmann and their children Maks, Mason, and Trey of Furdale, SK; son Shayne (Kelsey) Mamer and their children Beau and Kacey of RM of Dundurn, SK; sister Marlene (David) Pfeiffer; brothers Dean (Cynthia) Mamer and Keith (Sharla) Mamer; brothers-in-law Keith (Linda) and Dale (Denise) Sarauer; sisters-in-law Sandi (Bill) Kupczyk and Deb Sarauer; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Brian is now reunited with his beloved parents, Norbert and Elaine Mamer; his parents-in-law, Bernard and Rita Sarauer; his sisters Deb Jestin and Mary Lou Mamer; brother-in-law Jack Jestin; his godson Jerrod Brinkman; and nephews Wayne and Joshua Sarauer.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Intensive Care Unit at Royal University Hospital through the RUH Foundation, in gratitude for the outstanding care provided during Brian's time of need. The family also encourages the gift of donating blood in Brian's memory (Give for Brian Mamer, BRIA0129829).

The Funeral Mass will be held at the Cathedral of the Holy Family, 123 Nelson Road, Saskatoon, SK, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., celebrated by Fr. Gerard Cooper. A eulogy and lunch will follow in the church hall.
