COOPER,
CAROLYN JEANNE
NOVEMBER 29, 1958 – JANUARY 22, 2023
Carolyn was born and raised in Saskatoon. She was pre-deceased by her infant brother Michael, her younger sister Lianne, and her mother Maxine. She is survived by her father Gary (Della) and step brothers Joel (Teal), and Parker (Loganne), her older brother Curtis (Denine), and her younger sister Sandy (Bernie), as well as numerous relatives.
Carolyn attended Grasswood School, and later transferred to Clavet School during her elementary and high school education. She worked as a cab driver here in Saskatoon, as well as a graphic art designer for a local printing firm. Later she moved to Edmonton, Calgary and then Vancouver, proudly cheering on the provincial sports teams along the way, (but always pulled for the Rough Riders when they were the Visiting or Home Team). She herself had a very competitive nature, and was part of many high school sports teams. Later in her life she joined various women’s soccer, broomball, and other league teams, while home and on the course of her travels.
During her stay in Vancouver, she became a casino dealer, which provided her with the opportunity to meet many folks in the area. She was friends with many people of all ages, nationalities, and cultural backgrounds, and never hesitated to ask them to come and meet our family on special occasions.
Carolyn’s sense of humor and wit were her strongest features, as she would find humor in some of the most awkward moments. She may have saved many people with her personality and positive nature, changing their perspective during their darkest days.
She eventually returned to Saskatoon, which is her final resting place. She will be sadly missed by her family and her many friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Carolyn made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada would be welcome.
A Celebration of Carolyn’s Life will take place at the Edwards Family Centre on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 3:00 pm with parking available at Saskatoon Funeral Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home.
