Christine Alison Paterson

May 2, 1980 — April 28, 2026

Christine Alison Paterson was born in Kipling, Saskatchewan, on May 2, 1980. She passed away suddenly April 28, 2026, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, as a result of complications due to pneumonia.

She lived in Kipling, Prince George, Kelowna, Carnduff, Meadow Lake, Saskatoon, Weyburn, and Regina. Growing up in Meadow Lake she enjoyed high school drama, band, 4H, and numerous friendships as a teenager along with the many visits to the lakes in the area. Her first job was working for the local KFC in Meadow Lake. Chicken was not her favorite food for an extended time after. After high school, she moved to Saskatoon to attend The University of Saskatchewan for 3 years.

Christine had many different and diverse jobs over the years, from door to door sales of cutlery, magazine advertising sales, waitress, catering large venues, and more recently working various exhibitions across the country. She loved getting to see a variety of concerts and was a people person, always taking the time to chat with everyone and anyone. Music was a huge part of her life, compiling recordings for her dad over the years and never forgetting to call her mom on Elvis Presley's birthday. On one such occasion she was able to hang out with Snoop Dog after one of his concerts.

Christine watched over her little brother Ryan throughout their life. After all, she was "his big sister" and didn't take the role lightly. They were two peas in a pod watching out for each other. She had a wonderful relationship with him in all the various towns that they lived in due to her father's work with the RCMP. Christine was always up to the challenges that that lifestyle brought.

Christine enjoyed all the family trips the family was able to make over the years. Her favorites were Hawaii and Disneyland, where riding in Space Mountain had to be done more than once. Travel throughout the USA and western Canada were also an important part of her life.

As a young girl, she loved spending time with her grandparents. She was often able to travel to their homes for extended stays where they could spend countless hours enjoying whatever activity arose. Mini golf in Penticton was a favorite.

Christine loved all things living. She had big and small fish tanks with a variety of tropical fish including piranhas, gerbils, and a host of other critters over the years. One of Christine's favorite spots in Saskatoon was at the weir on the South Saskatchewan River. She could spend hours feeding the squirrels and relaxing. No matter what a persons background, she was not hesitant to strike up a conversation about their dog, the weather, or anything else that came to mind. She loved to visit.

She would wait with eager anticipation the arrival of the pelicans migrating northbound that would land at the weir. It meant that spring was in the air. Mom and dad would get notified of the pelican's arrival at which the discussion would be about seeing the pelicans in Mexico and also in Saskatoon. Mom would rib her about having pelicans in Saskatoon.

Christine lived a health conscious lifestyle. Exercise and a healthy diet was an important part of her daily life.

Christine was a long time Oilers fan, from when she was a little girl up to the Oilers recent loss to the Ducks. She would have certainly voiced her sentiment about the Oilers playoff run ending early, to anyone who would listen.

A huge thank you to Dr. Dafe for his care and empathy with Christine, all the Emergency care team at St. Paul's hospital on the evening she passed and to her long time friend Ryan who was there for her over the past years.

Christine is survived by her loving parents Stuart and Yvonne Paterson, brother Ryan (Jessica), and her nieces Alexis and Skylar, numerous aunties, uncles and cousins, and all that met, knew and loved Christine over her lifetime.

A celebration of Christine’s life is planned for the summer of 2026, when family and loved ones will gather in remembrance.

In lieu of flowers, donations to your local SPCA in Christine's name would be appreciated.
