Clifford Bridges

September 19, 1944 — August 9, 2024

Cliff passed away peacefully in hospital with his wife, Darcy, and daughter, Carrie, at his side.

Clifford Douglas Bridges was born in Glasgow, Scotland on September 19, 1944. He came to Canada in July of 1946 on the Aquitania with his mother, Marg Bridges, and the other war brides, arriving on Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. From there, they took a train to Govan, Saskatchewan where he was reunited with his father, Douglas Bridges.

Cliff loved sports and the outdoors. He played baseball and hockey in his youth and became an avid, lifelong Saskatchewan Roughrider fan in adulthood.

Cliff had a variety of employment opportunities throughout his life, including acting as a wilderness guide and in construction. He was especially proud of his work and the friendships made while working at Wright Construction in Saskatoon where he stayed until his retirement.

Cliff was predeceased by his parents, Doug and Marg Bridges, his son Rory Bridges, and his brother Bill Bridges. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Darcy (nee Carleton), his son Kent Bridges, and daughters Carrie (Leighton) Fergusson and Tara (Gilbert) Bridges Colomb, his nine grandchildren, and sisters Val (Ron) Waldron and Karen (John) Desroches.

There will be no funeral as Cliff requested.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to a charity of your choice or the Saskatchewan Roughriders Children's Hospital Foundation.
