Conrad Joseph Chalifour passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025 at the age of 83.
Conrad was born in Prince Albert, SK on April 3, 1942, the sixth of seven children of Pierre and Marie Helene Chalifour. Growing up on a small farm in Leoville, he was taught the value and gifts of God, family, and hard work. After high school he moved to North Battleford where he worked for PFRA as an underground irrigation engineer. It was there that he fell in love with and married Carol Bergen. After living in Saskatoon, SK and then Delta and Langley, BC, they and their 4 children moved back to Saskatchewan where they purchased and ran the hotel in LeRoy for 9 years. After they sold the hotel, they moved back to BC and bought a small acreage in Yarrow where they were able to enjoy life with the mountains in the background. They eventually moved back to Saskatoon where they could be closer to their family and complete their journey in life.
Conrad had a way with people and anybody that met him always walked away knowing how kind and genuine he was. He had a great sense of humor and it was always a pleasure to visit with him. Even if it was just talking on the phone or text messaging, his warm personality always shone through and put a smile everyone's face. He loved woodworking, and especially enjoyed working with oak; taking his time and wet sanding to a shine, the pieces of furniture he made were beautiful. His favorite pastime however, was being around his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; and they loved it as well.
Conrad will be lovingly remembered and missed by his children Kelly (Ralph), Holly (Brian), Vincent (Cheryl), and Tara (Norman), and his 10 grandchildren Ricki (Rob) Thompson, Taigan Chalifour, Kendrick and Mackenzie Walker, Allicia, Katarina and Kaitlin Chalifour, and Paige, Brett (Rachel), Kylan (Cara) Vidak, and 14 great grandchildren.
Conrad will also be truly missed by his brother Maurice (Olivette), sister-in-law Linda, and many nieces and nephews. Conrad was pre deceased by his wife Carol, granddaughter Lindsey, parents Pierre and Marie Helene, brothers Rosaire, Roland, and Daniel, sisters Lucille Bonneau and Aurore Eden, brothers in law Allan Eden, Johnny Bonneau, Gene and Russel Bergen, sisters in law Heather Bergen and Iona Chalifour, and mother and father-in-law Dave and Rosella Bergen.
