SEMENCHUK (Jan. 15, 1953 to June 23, 2023): It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Cornell ‘Cor’ Semenchuk on Friday, June 23, 2023 in his home in Saskatoon, SK. Cor was born in Minnedosa, MB on Jan. 15, 1953 to Stanley and Jessie Semenchuk. Cor attended school in Minnedosa and moved to Brandon with his parents and finished school. He worked with Schneiders Meats and later spent years as a long haul truck driver until his retirement. Cor was awarded Driver of the Year 2010 with T & T Trucking. He had many friends in Minnedosa, Brandon, and Saskatoon. Cor. Loved. Sports. Golf and hockey. Hockey was his game. He played, watched and coached in Saskatoon. He wrote articles in the Rink Report in Saskatoon for many years. He is survived by his loving partner Pat, son Troy and grandchildren Tye and Emily in Prince Albert, SK, daughter Kristi in Vancouver, BC. He was predeceased by his parents Stanley, Jessie, brother Bobby, brother-in-law Bob Allen, nephew Brett Nelson. He is survived by sisters Bea (Cookie) Allen, Tillie Johnson (Wayne), Marjorie Nelson (Mervin), many nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Wendy and family. As per Cor’s wishes no funeral or memorial will be held. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Minnedosa Arena or Saskatchewan Junior Hockey Association.
