Dakota Rae Robert Hamilton

November 23, 1992 — December 26, 2025

Dakota Rae Robert Hamilton was born on November 23, 1992, in Yellowknife NT and passed away unexpectedly on December 26, 2025 in Saskatchewan. He was deeply loved and will be forever missed by all who knew him.

Dakota had a deep love for the outdoors and was happiest surrounded by nature. He enjoyed quading, skidooing, fishing, and spending time outside whenever he could. A passionate Edmonton Oilers fan, Dakota also loved music — especially country — and could often be found teaching others to two-step or playing his guitar or drums, gathered around a bonfire with friends.

Dakota had a natural talent for nearly anything he tried. Whether it was water skiing, drawing, sports, or learning something new, he had an incredible ability to be good at things the very first time. His confidence, skill, and contagious sense of humour and energetic spirit left a lasting impression on those around him.

Born and raised in Yellowknife, Dakota later moved to his family farm in Saskatchewan at the age of 16, a place he called home on and off throughout his life. He spent time working in the oil field and took pride in his hard work as an equipment operator.

Dakota is lovingly remembered by his mother, Donna Meister (nee: Kraning); his father, Grant Hamilton (Carol). He will be deeply missed by his sisters, Tiffanni Hamilton, Samantha Meister and Natasha Meister, and by his niece and nephew, Emersen and Fraeya Baxandall. As well as his stepfather, Steven Meister.

He is also survived by his long-term partner, Nitasha Palumbo, and his beloved dog, Nala, who were constant sources of love and companionship in his life.

Dakota is fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, Grandmother, family and friends whose lives he touched.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Ben Kraning and Marjorie Kraning and Delbert Hamilton; as well as his brother-in-law, Brandon Baxandall.

Dakota’s adventurous spirit, talent, and love for life will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Details regarding a celebration of life will be shared at a later time.
