The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Burstall Community Hall, Burstall, SK.

Interment at St. Michael and St. Paul Cemetery.

Daniel J Bates, 71, of Burstall Sk, passed away on November 28th, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones in the St Paul's Hospital ICU.

He was born to parents Franklin and Maxinene Bates, on October 7th 1951, in Carmangay, AB. Dan graduated Highschool in Lethbridge, AB, and went on to receive a Diploma in Advertising and Public Relations at Lethbridge Community College. He then went on to receive a B.Sc. in Managerial Economics ( Cum Laude) from Utah State University and a Masters in Agricultural Industries at Utah State University.

Dan was recognised by the minister of advanced education for academic excellence.  He received a scholarship from Baker-Lovick Advertising for academic achievement in the field of advertising.  He attended Utah State University on an academic scholarship and was inducted into the Golden Key National Honour Society for recognition of academic achievement and excellence.

He married Kayleen, the love of his life, in 1972, who survives him.  Dan is also survived by his 5 children and respective spouses, Lorrie (Gavin) Greenwald, Colin Bates, Becky (Nabil) Elkabir, Wesley (Tyrena) Bates, and Lindsey (Burke) Hill.  He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.  Dan was also survived by his Mother, Maxine Bates, (age102) and his 4 siblings.  His Father Franklin Bates, and Granddaughter Allie Elkabir welcomed him into heaven.

Dan was most known for his love of his family.  His most cherished moments were spent around the kitchen table talking with his wife and kids,  sharing stories and giving fatherly advice.

Dan's Funeral will be held on December 3rd, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Burstall Community Hall, burial to follow.
