Daphne Pearce

1927 — July 15, 2022

Daphne Agnes Pearce was born on July 21, 1927 in Borden, Saskatchewan to Leslie and Lila Pope. She was the middle sibling, born the younger sibling to sister Marion, brother Clive and followed by her sister Linda. Daphne started school in the Halcyonia District until grade 10. She finished her schooling in Saskatoon, SK at City Park for Grade 11 and 12.

Daphne was known as an avid community volunteer. She was president of the United Church Women (1993-2007), she sat on the Halcyonia school board (1960-1966), she was Vice President of the Borden Seniors Club (2000-2003), and she taught Sunday School and 4-H photography. Daphne loved singing in the church choir, and gardening. Her garden reflected all the love and hardwork she put into it.

Walter and Daphne married in 1949. They were married for 50 years and lived on the Four Corners Farm North of Borden. Raising their two children Eric and Georgia. Daphne wore many hats on the farm: mother, cook, gardener and farmer.

Daphne will be deeply missed by her family; her two children, Eric (Darlene) Pearce and Georgia (Larry) Lundquist; sister Linda Tyson; her grandchildren, Tim (Tara) Haryung and family, Tammy (Kelly) Pauls and family, Katarina (Kelly) Rioch, Jillian (Russell) Orchard, Nicholas (Calla) Lundquist, Samantha Lundquist; her great grandchildren, Jackson, Rowan, Lila, Maverick, Everlee, and Colbie; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Leslie and Lila Pope; sister Marion Saunders, brother, Clive Pope; husband, Walter Pearce.

Daphne passed away on July 15, 2022 at Warman Mennonite Special Care Home in Warman, Saskatchewan, at the age of 94 years. A very special thank you to the staff at the Warman and Borden Care Homes for their loving care.


Family and friends are encouraged to gather for a celebration of Daphne’s life being held on Tuesday July 26, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Borden Community Hall with Gail Wensley officiating. The service will be followed by the interment at the Borden Cemetery. Lunch will be provided by the Seniors Club.
