David Kristian Savoie
April 18, 1982 - March 7, 2023
It is with sadness that our family announces that David Savoie passed away suddenly on March 7, 2023 in Saskatoon, SK at the age of 40.
David, also fondly known as Dave and Davey, is survived by his wife Amanda; children Tyson and Halle; parents Lorna (Stan) Johnson and Melvin Savoie; sister Danielle (Troy) Camp; stepbrother David (Becky) Johnson; brother-inlaw Jared Tisserand; nieces Olive, Hanna, Nola, Evelyn; nephews Finnley, Luke; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends whom he regarded as family which are too numerous to be named. Dave was predeceased by his grandparents; step sister; uncles and aunts.
Dave was born to Lorna and Melvin in Regina, SK. He lived in Moose Jaw, SK for a brief time before finally moving to Saskatoon, SK where he resided for the remainder of his life.
Dave attended elementary and high school in Saskatoon. In his childhood he made many connections through sports. He was a competitive BMX rider in his youth and played hockey from youth to adulthood.
He spent his career working with vehicles and built up a vast knowledge and appreciation of them. Throughout his career at a local auto body business he spent time as a technician, a manager, and partner. He obtained several professional designations including a Red Seal Journeyman Technician certificate, and a Business Administration Certificate. He was proud of where he worked and the team he worked with. He loved his career and work family.
Dave was a loving and devoted husband and father. He also loved dogs, especially the two family dogs Bentley and Porsche. He was dearly loved by his wife and kids. He spent a lot of time teaching the kids to bike, swim, skate, play, build, cook, garden and more. He seemed to know how to do it all and do it all well. He went above and beyond for his wife and kids always.
His family and friends speak often about his generosity. If anyone needed help, Dave was the guy to call; often also showing up with a smile and food. He had a love of cooking, grilling, and smoking food. He made sure to always make extra so that he could share with people outside the household. As much as he loved cooking food, he loved sharing it.
Dave was the friend you could always count on. He was loyal, kind, genuine, honest, and loved to joke with people. He was amazing at connecting with people and building strong relationships; and he genuinely cared about those he met. His vibrant personality was a joy to be around. His presence will be deeply missed and his absence profound.
