David McManus

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of David M. McManus. David passed away peacefully in hospital at RUH in Saskatoon, on November 21 at 3:15 pm., in the comfort and company of his wife and his three children.

David was born on May 21, 1943 into a large farming family near Kindersley, SK and in that time and place he cultivated his life-long love for farming. Later on David and his wife, and soul mate Carol, jointly operated a large and successful farming operation not too far away from where he was born, thus satisfying his ingrained desire to farm and work the land.

In the Second Act of his life, David demonstrated the grit and courage for which he was well known, and with Carol, he built a second farm from scratch east of Saskatoon. David lived a life full of challenges and it is to his immense credit that he possessed the strength of character that allowed him to confront each challenge in its turn. David embodied the classical virtues of fortitude, grit, strength, diligence, patience, courage, and love; he always carried love in his heart. Above all else courage and love, mattered for David. And he was a joyful Man. He loved to laugh. His laughter will echo for many years.

David is pre-deceased by his father Alex, his mother Violet, and his three older brothers Don, Jack and Jim.

He is survived by his wife Carol, his daughter Shannon, and his sons Cameron and Curtis, as well as his sister Beth and his brother Bruce.

A funeral service for David will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the Saskatoon Funeral Home Chapel (338 4th Avenue North). David will be interred at the Kindersley cemetery, on Monday, December, 2, when he will be returned to the soil.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the cardiac unit via the R.U.H. Foundation.
