Diane Haugen

April 9, 1947 — November 14, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Diane Haugen (Winkenweder) on Thursday, November 14, 2024. Diane is survived by her loving son Darren (Tara) and grandsons Dallas, Austin and Colby Haugen.

Diane struggled with many medical issues in her lifetime, (in her own words she said "Enough is enough!"). Diane was born on April 9, 1947 and grew up in Saskatoon, graduating from Saskatoon Technical High School. She pursued a career in the medical field with her first position being at the Saskatoon Sanitorium at this time she met her future husband Lorne Haugen.

Lorne took a job transfer to Prince Albert, SK at which time Diane took a break from her career to stay home and raise their son, Darren. They subsequently returned to Saskatoon and when she decided to re-enter the workforce Diane realized her training was outdated and went to Saskatoon Business College. Upon completion of her program Diane accepted a position at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon in the Operating Room and the ICU where she remained for 22 years until her retirement.

Diane is predeceased by her loving husband Lorne (2020). Lorne's passing was a very difficult time for Diane but she found peace and solace in her beautiful garden. She was predeceased by her father John (Winkenweder) and mother Diana (Winkenweder) Lelliott. Diane was also predeceased by her mother and father in law Edith and Palmer (Haugen).

Diane is survived by her sister Deborah, brothers Richard (Marilyn), Greg (Karen) and Derek. As well as sisters in law Pat (Urban), Sharon (Norm), Heather (Steve) and many nieces and nephews. Also left to mourn her passing are her dear friends Arlene and Anne.

A grave side service will take place for Diane in the summer per her wishes.
