It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Goodman, who left us far too soon at the age of 29. Donald died by suicide after a courageous battle with mental illness-a struggle he faced with quiet strength and resilience.

Donald was born on March 15, 1996, in Saskatoon, arriving three minutes before his beloved twin sister, Danielle. He attended Georges Vanier Elementary and Holy Cross High School before beginning studies in Computer Science at the University of Saskatchewan. After deciding to take a different path, Donald joined his mother at Vicwest for a time, and later found his calling with the City of Saskatoon in the Water and Sewer Department. He took great pride in his work and eventually rose to the role of Waste Water Inspector, a position he loved and excelled in.

From a young age, Donald had a zest for life and a passion for connecting with others. He played hockey in the Bobcat Zone from the age of 7 to 18, and later enjoyed golfing with friends, fishing, and playing pool with his dad. Donald was an avid traveler-visiting Los Angeles, Montreal, Disney, the Shuswap Lakes, Mexico, and more. He cherished the summers spent at the family cabin at Emma Lake and the memories made during family ski trips and cruises.

Donald had a close-knit group of friends, some of whom he had known since kindergarten. Their weekly wing nights and Dungeons & Dragons sessions brought him joy and companionship. Family meant everything to Donald. He looked forward to family dinners, game nights, and time spent with his friends and family.

Donald is lovingly remembered by his mother and stepfather Colleen and Jason Kramer; his father and stepmother David and Shannon Goodman; his sister Danielle Kelln (Koby); his niece Peyton Kelln; his stepbrother Noah Kramer; his stepsisters Jocelyn and Jillian Bellamy, and Jillian's children Rin Wolfe, Ivy, and Emily Hart. He is also survived by his grandmother Rita Lawrence, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

He was predeceased by his grandfather Don Lawrence, grandfather Allan Goodman, grandmother Gladys Sherman, and uncle Jim Goodman.

Donald will be remembered for his kind heart, quiet sense of humor, dedication to his work, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. Though his life was cut short, the impact he made on those who knew and loved him will never be forgotten.

A celebration of Donald's life will be held at Saskatoon Funeral Home located at 338 4th Ave North on Sunday June 1 at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Donald's memory to Saskatoon Crisis Intervention or another mental health organization of your choice.

If you or someone you love is struggling, please know you are not alone. Help is available.
