Donna Jeanne Anderson (née Peters)
October 5, 1935 - July 4, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Donna Jeanne Anderson announces her passing at the age of 89, on July 4, 2025, at Samaritan Place in Saskatoon.

Donna was born in Saskatoon to Albert and Leila Peters. She grew up in the city, graduating from City Park Collegiate, and spent much of her life surrounded by her beloved family. Donna was a devoted wife to her late husband, Dale, supporting his hockey career in their early years together, and a loving mother to their children Mark, Shari, and Darren.

She was also a cherished sister to her brother, Dean Peters. Donna was incredibly proud of her role as a grandmother, great-grandmother (Gigi), and great-great-grandmother, and she took immense joy in the lives of her growing family. She is survived by her daughter Shari Bedient (Gord), son Darren Anderson (Krista), grandchildren Ashley Ewen (Chris), Jared Whiting (Selina), Ryan Bedient (Roxie), Krysta Shacklock (Ryan), Emily McGill (Austin), Zach, Easton, and Avaya, as well as great-grandchildren Breanne (Jason), Tyler (Amelia), Nick, Luke, Anthony, James, Casey, Max, and Elina. She was also blessed with great-great-grandchildren Christopher, Weston, and Wrenley.

Donna was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Leila Peters, beloved husband, Dale, son Mark, and great-grandson, Henry.

Donna’s love for horses was well-known, and she had a remarkable talent for riding and jumping and often shared fond memories of her time with Carousel and Playboy. Her passions also included curling, golf, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and, of course, more golf. Donna enjoyed working at the cancer clinic and always made time to volunteer at Ronald McDonald House, offering her compassion and support to those in need.

Above all, Donna’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her warmth, love, and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. We were all so very fortunate to have had Donna in our lives.

In her final months, Donna was cared for by the compassionate and dedicated staff at Samaritan Place. The kindness and professionalism of the staff provided her with comfort, and the family is forever appreciative of their unwavering support during her time there.

A memorial service will be held at the Saskatoon Funeral Home (corner of 4th Avenue and 25th Street) on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 11:00 am. Following the service, Donna’s ashes will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow at the Saskatoon Golf & Country Club at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada in Donna’s memory.
