Donna Lee Blackwell

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Blackwell on January 15 ^th at the age of 66.  Donna was predeceased by her parents Cecil and Crystal Brandt, brother-in-law Joe Tworkowski and son-in-law Trevor Hallwachs.  Donna is survived by her loving husband Phil, 2 children Greg, (Annette) and Randi, 4 grandchildren; Izzy, Colton, William and Rylan.  Siblings; Kathy (Al), Bonnie (Brian), Ron (Earla), Marlene, Terry and her many nieces and nephews.

Born on April 23, 1953 in Saskatoon to Cecil and Crystal Brandt, Donna was the third of 6 children.  Saskatoon was Donna’s home for her entire life, and every summer of her life was spent at the family cabin on the shores of Emma Lake.  Donna graduated from Aden Bowman Collegiate in 1971 and reunited with her childhood sweetheart Phillip Blackwell while attending the U of S.  Phil and Donna were married on April 10, 1976 in Saskatoon.  After completing her diploma at SIAST, Donna started her career as a TA for the Saskatoon Catholic School Board in 1986 and continued until 2016.

Donna enjoyed spending time at the lake with her family.  Sitting by the campfire, picking berries, doing crafts with her grandchildren, reading on the deck by the lake and watching her kids and grandkids play in the water were some of her favourite past times.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday January 24, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Edwards Family Centre, 333 4 ^th Avenue North (Courtesy parking at Saskatoon Funeral Home)
