It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Cathryn [Anderson] Reid of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on August 16, 2024 at the great age of 99 years 3 months.

Dorothy was born to Ole & Annie Cecilia [Holm] Anderson on May 24, 1925, in Kelvington, Saskatchewan.

She Married Stanley Dean Reid December 27, 1948 at her parent's farm in Norquay, Saskatchewan.

She is survived by one brother Russel Laurie Anderson of Ashcroft, B.C. as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley in 1988, her father Ole Anderson in 1974, her mother Annie [Holm] Anderson in 1990, both of Saskatoon, two sisters Edythe [Clifford] Johnson of Edmonton in 2007, Mae Tetlock [Mainus] of Norquay in 2013 and one brother Oliver Anderson of Saskatoon in 2009.

In her earlier years she worked at Hills Dairy in Saskatoon, which is where she met and married Stanley.

One of her greatest assets was to have fun wherever she went & she taught us all to be able to laugh at ourselves!

Dorothy belonged to many organizations over the years a member of the "Busy Bee Crafters', 'Sons of Norway', 'Saskatoon Norwegian Cultural Society', 'The Knothole Gang', and Dorothy and Stan also belonged to a Square Dance Club for many years.

Dorothy and Stan spent a lot of time camping, travelling and visiting relatives wherever they traveled.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Dorothy at the Saskatoon Funeral Home, 338 - 4 Ave., Saskatoon, Sk., S7K 2L7 on August 22, 2024 at 2 pm.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Saskatoon Funeral Home with interment following at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens beside her beloved Stan.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy's name to:

"Saskatoon Norwegian Cultural Society" 226 Tennant Crescent, Saskatoon, SK. S7H4Y8

Cheques may be made out to that Society. Or a Charity of your choice.

A special thank you to The Saskatoon Warm 'n Cozy Group of Care Homes [Maya] for the great care they gave Dorothy, The University of Saskatchewan Hospital and the Palliative Care Unit at Saskatoon City Hospital.
