On Monday, February 26, 2018 Dorothy Wurst passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. She is survived by her loving husband Alex Wurst, and her children and grandchildren, Dan Wurst (Sukanya Dechsorn), Linda Walls (Garth Walls, Stacey and Ryan Tillmanns, Chris and Beth Walls, Bradley and Jenny Walls), Darryl Wurst (Anita Wurst, Jennifer and James McCarroll, Adam Wurst and Rikki Annabel), Gary Wurst (Patty Wurst, Josh and Joy-Anne Wurst, Nathan and Sara Wurst, Alex Wurst), Pattie Tastad (Allyn Tastad, Michael Tastad and K-Lynn Bonogofski, Kara Tastad) and her brother Henry Walter (Justine Walter), sister-in-law Marie Walter. Dorothy is pre-deceased by her parents John and Veronica Walter, her sister Agnes Selk (Albert Selk), brother Charles Walter and daughter-in-law Lorraine Davis. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.Dorothy was born on September 22, 1930 to John and Veronica Walter in Lampman, Saskatchewan near the family farm where she grew up. After high school Dorothy moved to Regina to work as a nurse’s aide with the Grey Nuns. Wanting to be closer to home she moved to Estevan where she met the love of her life Alex Wurst. They were married on November 10, 1954. While in Estevan, Alex and Dorothy built their first home, and had five children. During their 63 years of marriage, they moved extensively throughout western Canada, settling in Saskatoon.Dorothy was an avid gardener, dancer, crafter and bowler. Her favourite family times were spent camping, playing cards and board games, Christmas holidays and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.To continue Dorothy’s love of gardening and love of children donations may be made to littlegreenthumbs.org. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Holy Spirit Parish, 114 Kingsmere Place, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Rite of Interment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
