It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our brother Doug Koopman at his home in Colonsay, Saskatchewan, on November 12, 2025.

Doug is survived by his sister; Joan (John) Cranch, his two brothers; Robert (Marge) Koopman and Larry (Lynn) Koopman, his nieces and nephews; Chantelle Koopman, Christa Koopman, Greg Safinuk, Carla Safinuk, Anna-Livia Perry, Prithvi Kaushal as well as uncles and aunts.

Doug was born on November 26, 1957 to his parents Harry and Betty Koopman. He went to Colonsay School and completed his grade 12. He was a devoted farmer all of his life, right from an early age. Doug was very caring and could be seen lending a helpful hand to neighbors and the rest of the community.

Upon Doug’s request, there will be no funeral. Memorial Donations can be made to the Colonsay Cemetery or a charity of your choice.
