Dustin J. Geeraert
March 21, 1983 - October 15, 2024
It is with sorrow and sadness that we announce our tragic loss. Dustin Geeraert passed away at his residence in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Tuesday, October 15th, 2024. Dustin was dearly loved and cherished by his family and friends. Dustin had natural talents for drawing and art, an incredible ability to partake in speaking and discussion of topics from a wide range of interests. He possessed a strong, yet considerate and sensitive will. He was motivated and determined to achieve and excel at whatever his endeavors. Some of these led to accomplishing feats requiring immense physical and mental endurance, like bicycle trips across the country. His academic achievements include a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Saskatchewan and a Masters / Doctorate degree from the University of Manitoba, where he taught classes in English, Icelandic literature, and Norse and Medieval folklore. Dustin was a wonderful son, brother, uncle and grandson.
Dustin is survived by his father Allen of Saskatoon, and sister Lindsay Geeraert (39) (David Heyduck), niece and nephew Emery and Declan of Rossland, BC, brothers Coleman Geeraert of Saskatoon (37) and Bryce Geeraert (32) (Erin), niece Norah of Calgary, AB; grandparents George and Wilma LaRose of Saskatoon; his Uncles Bruce LaRose of Rowan's Ravine, SK, Lenard Geeraert of Calgary, AB; Aunts Sherry Nadeau (Roberto) of Saskatoon, Johanna Geeraert of Stony Plain, AB, Elaine Seymour (Ray) of Vermilion, AB, Doreen Roy of Edmonton, AB, Grace Ferguson (Bruce) of Stony Plain, AB, Mary Younie (Bryan) of Spruce Grove, AB, Marjanne Geeraert of Edmonton, AB; Aunt In-laws Debbie Geeraert of Lloydminster, AB, Debbie LaRose (Steve) of Weyburn, SK; cousins from the families of Linda's brother and sister, Blayz LaRose of Pilot Butte, SK, Sarah Nadeau (Desmond) of Saskatoon, Jocelynn Mariott (Johnny) of San Luis Obispo, CA; and numerous other cousins from the families of Allen's brothers and sisters. Dustin was pre-deceased by his mother Linda Geeraert, his grandparents Margaret and Henry Geeraert, his Aunts Susan Robinson and Cheryl Geeraert, Uncles Albert Geeraert and Gordon Geeraert.
A celebration of Dustin's life will be held on Saturday, November 16th, 1:00 PM at the Edwards Family Centre, #333 4th Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK. Courtesy parking at Saskatoon Funeral Home.
