It is with sadness the family of Earle Wood announce his passing on February 17, 2026, at the age of 93. He is a much-loved Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Father-in-Law and Brother who will be missed greatly. Earle was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy, daughter Marilyn Wood- Sparrow, son-in-law Arthur Colclough and brothers George and Byron Wood. Earle was born and raised on the family farm near Vanscoy, Saskatchewan. At a young age he suffered an accident that resulted in him being unable to bend and stretch his right arm properly. But that never restricted him in his activities of life and never complained about it. Earle married Dorothy Forrieter in November of 1955 and were married for 66 years before Dorothy's passing. He worked 34 years for the Saskatoon Public School Board as caretaker in several schools in Saskatoon. He loved the students and enjoyed teasing them and giving them nicknames. Earle not only worked full time, but he also farmed for numerous years with his dad and later with his brother, George in the Vanscoy area. Earle was forever seen tinkering with his farm machinery or any other gadget that needed fixing. He was a very committed member of the Vanscoy community for all his life. He helped build Circle Hall and volunteered to help in many other community events. Earle was an avid curler, curling at the Hub and CN curling clubs. Both Dorothy and Earle loved to socialize with family and friends over a card game or sharing a meal. They enjoyed square dancing or taking a bus trip together. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Davidson Health Center for the exceptional care Earle received for the past few years, while he was a resident there. Memorial service will be held on April 18th at 10 a.m. from Saskatoon Funeral Home.
