Erna Dreger, age 95, passed away at Luther Special Care Home on November 13, 2018. She was born at Yellowgrass Sk., the eldest of four children, and grew up in Weyburn Sk. on her parent’s dairy farm. After her marriage to Walter Dreger in 1940, they settled in Watrous Sk. and added two children to the family. Subsequently, the family moved to Weyburn Sk. and two locations in Manitoba. In 1957 they relocated to Saskatoon and lived in the same house on Maple St. for over fifty years. Erna worked full time as a nurse’s aid at the Saskatoon University Hospital in the 1960’s. After leaving her employment at the Hospital, she worked part time as a care aid. Predeceased by her parents, husband Walter (2016), son Delmer (2004), one brother and one sister. She is survived by her daughter Bernice (Lloyd) Hilderman, grandchildren, Trevor Hilderman, Melissa (Jason) Boisvert, Scott (Krista) Dreger as well as four great grandchildren, Bailey, Jordyn, Connor, and Lacey, one brother Delbert and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Saskatoon Funeral Home, 338 4th Ave. North, beginning at 1:30 pm. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed to the Saskatoon SPCA, 5028 Clarence Ave, Grasswood Sk. S7T 1A7 or to a charity of one’s choice.
