Ernest (Ernie) Shewchuk

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ernie Shewchuk on August 14, 2026, surrounded by his family. Ernie was a beloved husband, father and grampy and a cherished friend to many. He treasured his family above all else and took great joy in catching the big one (hopefully), a good golf game and a win in the curling rink.

Ernie will be forever loved and remembered by his loving wife of 56 years Verna, son Dean (Amanda), grandchildren Dane, Kaelie (Joel), Jorja, daughter Laura (Kenny), and special friends Kristen and Trevor; his sibling Walter (Irene). He was predeceased by his father Nick, mother Rose, sister RoseMarie and brother Elmer.

Ernie will be profoundly missed, but his memory will live on in the stories we tell, the traditions we carry forward, and the love he gave us.

At Ernie’s request there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers please donate to your preferred charity.
