It is with heavy hearts that the family of Evelyn Bakoway announce her peaceful passing on July 5, 2026 with her dear daughter, Rhonda by her side at the Hospice at Glengarda in Saskatoon, SK.

Evelyn will be lovingly remembered by her husband Bill, daughter Rhonda (Guy Wesson), her beloved grandson Cullen, sister Irene Eyre, brother Ernie (Dixie) Dehr; and many extended family members and friends who will carry her memory forward.

Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, Helen and Gus, brothers Wilfred, Arthur, Elmer and Gordon; and her sisters Wilma, Agnes, and Hattie.

The family of Evelyn would like to sincerely thank the ER trauma teams, nurses, doctors and care aids at both St. Paul’s and Royal University Hospitals who cared for her on numerous occasions through her illness. We also would like to send a huge thank you to the amazing staff at the Hospice at Glengarda who made her last few days so incredibly comfortable.

Evelyn’s final resting place will be in the Columbarium at St. John’s Cathedral, in a section called “In the Garden”, the perfect place for someone who loved gardening so much and spent her life helping love and kindness grow wherever she went.

A Celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held on Friday July 10, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Saskatoon Funeral Home, 338 4th Ave. N, Saskatoon, SK 244-5577.
