Evelyn Patricia Lovell

Jun 4, 1927 — Jul 8, 2026

Pat died peacefully at home after her health declined over the past few months. Born in Saskatoon to William and Annie Lambert, she attended Haultain School, Nutana Collegiate, and the University of Saskatchewan, earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1948 with a major in accounting. Pat had taken up the violin at an early age and starting in her late teens she played with the Saskatoon Symphony for several years until university schedules made that unworkable.

She married Frank Lovell in 1950. They had met in first year university when he pretended to be a senior and tricked her into polishing his shoes on Freshie Day. Pat worked as an accountant until she retired to raise their family, but she returned to work part-time when the children were older. They had three children, Nancy, Richard, and Melanie. Rick, an air force pilot, was killed in a military plane crash in November 1982. Frank died in January 1998. Pat is survived by her daughters Nancy and Melanie.

Pat and Frank loved to travel and visited Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Greece,Turkey, and countries in southeast Asia and the UK. After Frank’s death she continued to travel with her daughters to the Okanagan, the Rockies, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, and on cruises to Alaska, the Caribbean, and through the Panama Canal.

At Pat’s request, there will be no formal funeral or memorial gathering.
