1932 — September 8, 2018

HOFFART – The death of Father Louis Hoffart, OMI, occurred peacefully on Saturday, September 8, 2018 in Saskatoon.  Father Louis was born in Kerrobert, SK, on March 25, 1932, to Theresa (Zahn) and Bernard Hoffart. He grew up and went to school in Tramping Lake, SK. He entered the novitiate of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate in 1954 and professed his First Vows on September 8, 1955. After attending Holy Rosary Scholasticate in Ottawa, ON, Father Louis was ordained to the ministerial priesthood on June 17, 1961, in his hometown of Tramping Lake.  From 1962-1981, Father Louis served as a missionary in Peru.  Returning to Canada, he was pastor in communities in Alberta and British Columbia. In 2004, Father Louis returned to his Saskatchewan roots and was pastor in Lanigan before he moved to Mazenod Residence in 2009, and then to Trinity Manor.
