Frank William Daum passed away quietly on December 28 at Royal University hospital at the age of 76 Born the youngest of 12 children to John and Margaret Daum on January 25, 1948 in Yorkton Sk, Frank was raised by his 7 sisters and 4 brothers. Without his mother, who had not survived his birth, this very large and growing family worked together to raise this precocious little boy. His eldest sisters were already having children of their own, and Frank and his nephews grew up as cousins and brothers.
Known for this love of good food, Frank frequently finish off many a family meal by "taking care of those leftovers", as long as there were no onions in sight. The best way to his heart was through turkey and Pumpkin Pie! Franks other loves were softball, bowling and hunting. Many of his friends were those he spent time with while dressed in camo, his go-to outfit for all occasions. He as also an avid animal lover who had many dogs and cats over the years. He loved his black cats, because he felt they were less likely to be adopted and so they always found a home with him.
Frank worked for many years at PCS Patience Lake Mine where he entertained his co-workers with stories and very bad jokes. After retirement, Franks favorite pastime would be flirting with the ladies at the bank and grocery stores and creating friendships that have lasted for many years.
Although he was a bachelor, Franks extended family would become one of choice not just blood. His friend Sean Sellar and family, his "granddaugter" Brandy Morphy and her children were as close to Frank as if they were his own kids. and his barber of many years Nycolle Brooks and her family held a special place in his heart. He valued his relationships with all his siblings and their children. Uncle Frank was everyone's Uncle. Frank was gruff on the outside, gooey on the inside. And for those who knew him best, he was a loyal and generous friend.
