Frank Jr. Peters

March 29, 1935 — June 5, 2025

Saskatoon

We are sad to announce the peaceful passing of Frank Peters on June 5, 2025 from bladder cancer.

Frank was born on March 19, 1935 to Frank Sr. Hague SK and Helen Peters (Penner) Osler SK.

Frank Jr. Peters was predeceased by his parents Frank Sr. and Helen Peters, wife Leota Peters (Krowchuk), daughter Karen Peters(Dueck), son Brad Peters and granddaughter Tanya-Lee Peters.

He will be lovingly remembered by his son Dwayne Peters, son-in-law Raymond Dueck, grandchildren Doniven (Sandra) Peters and Ethan Peters as well as his great grandchildren Kristian Peters, Cayden Lynden, Aurora Peters and Colton Peters.

Frank was born and raised in Saskatoon SK. His first job was after school helping the school caretaker clean up the school for 0.50 cents an hour. After his school days, Frank got started working in construction with Smith Brothers and Wilson (Wright Construction) for around 40 years as a maintenance shop worker and material shop driver for their job sites. He had to retire at an early age due to health problems. Frank was a member of the Labourers International Union of North America.

During his working years, Frank enjoyed taking his son Dwayne and late son Brad to many hockey games and practices, as well as his late daughter Karen to her baseball games. Frank and his late wife Leota were members of the Pow City Communicats CB Radio Club from Saskatoon.

The family bought a cabin at Big Shell (Echo Bay) in 1989 and it became one of his favourite places to be with his family. Frank thoroughly enjoyed his time at the lake. He was an avid fisherman and when he wasn’t fishing, he was fixing something on the cabin or tinkering on something just to keep busy. Didn’t matter if there was a birthday to go to or a supper with his Pow City Communicats friends, if the family was going to the lake he would tell everyone “Sorry, I won’t make it. Going to the lake!”.

Frank was always supportive of his grandkids and great grandkids and always tried his best to make it to every event the kids had that he could. Watching the kids play the sports they loved always put a smile on his face.

Frank was never afraid to start a conversation with a random stranger and always left an impression with the people he met.

He was loved by all who came into contact with him and his stories will live on forever.

A special Thanks and Appreciation to SPH 4th floor staff, City Hospital (Transition Unit) staff and RUH 5100 Ward for all the care you have given to Frank Peters.

A Celebration of life for Frank Jr. Peters will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 1:00p.m. at Saskatoon Funeral Home, 338 4th Avenue North, Saskatoon.
