Garry was born January 11, 1951 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan to Alfred and Anne Sales. At 16 years old he worked as a motorcycle mechanic, after which he moved to Saskatoon to further his education. He took accounting and worked at many jobs.

In 1981 he married Irene Moisan. They celebrated 45 years together last February. They enjoyed traveling and visiting. He loved spending time working on, and riding his many different motorbikes and cars. In 2008 he suffered a major brain bleed which ended his driving but he continued to enjoy traveling. Garry enjoyed going for drives with his arm out the window. He died peacefully in the car - "His Happy Place"

Garry is survived by his loving wife Irene Sales, brothers Floyd Sales (Pat), and Ken Sales (Jane), and sister Shirley Kozlowski (Paul), and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
