Garry Wayne Sturgeon of Saskatoon passed away June 16, 2026 after a short battle with cancer.
Garry was born on September 28, 1950 in Lafleche, SK. He attended the Regina campus of the University of Saskatchewan and graduated with a Bachelor of Administration degree. He later earned his Certified General Accountant professional designation.
In 1973, he married Shirley Rose Toth and they raised 4 children. Since 1983 they have made Saskatoon their home.
He worked as an accountant, and spent much of his career working for the Government of Canada, with both Western Economic Diversification and Business Development Bank of Canada.
Garry enjoyed curling, both playing and watching. He went on many road trips to go camping, boating, and sightseeing with family and friends.
He was thoughtful of others' well-being and generous with his time to help out where needed. He liked to joke around with people.
He was predeceased by his parents, Bob and Alpha, his sister Rita, and brothers Charles, Ralph, and Ronnie.
Garry is lovingly remembered by his wife Shirley, children Todd, Kevin (Tanjalee), Derek (Megan), Shauna (Tim), 7 grandchildren, and sisters Gailene and Diane.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday June 25,11:00 am at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, 217 Lenore Drive, Saskatoon. Columbarium inurnment will take place at a later date.
