Gerald David Andres

1935 — June 9, 2021

Andres,
Gerald (Jerry) David
August 30, 1935 – June 9, 2021

It is with bittersweet sadness that we must announce the passing of Gerald David Andres on Wednesday, June 9th, 2021 at the age of 85 years.  He passed away very peacefully at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, SK.

Gerald was born August 30th, 1935 on the family farm in the Landestreu District near MacNutt, SK, to Jacob and Lydia (nee Baumung) Andres. He was the youngest of three siblings.

Gerald will always be loved, fondly remembered, and greatly missed by his wife of 51 years, M. Elaine (nee McDonald), his devoted daughter Kim Andres, a sister-in-law Lorraine Andres; his nephews Grant Andres, Greg Berezowski, Murray Berezowski, and their families; also by his cousins, in-laws, and many friends.

Gerald was predeceased by his parents, a brother Kenneth (Ken), a sister Patricia (Pat) and her husband Melvin Berezowski, and a niece Kelly Andres. He was also predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law  Donald and Muriel (nee Woolsey) McDonald, and many friends.

Gerald was very proud of his family and his German heritage. He enjoyed celebrating his culture at Folkfest. He enjoyed hockey (Toronto Maple Leafs), curling, baseball, football, playing golf in his earlier days in Regina, and lots of mini golf with Kim.

Gerald took great pleasure in spending time with his family and having coffee with his buddies at Robins Donuts (Confederation Drive). He was always there to lend a helping hand.
After graduation, Gerald went to work as a salesman for Bowman Brothers, later called Fort Ignition, up until his retirement where he had been working at the CO-OP.

Elaine and Kim would like to very graciously extend their thank you to the doctors and nurses on Floor 4B Surgery East for their care, compassion, and empathy they gave to dad during his stay there.

Auf Wiedersehen, Mein Papa!

Wir Lieben Dich!
