Georgina Alice McEown

May 3rd, 1928 ~ July 18, 2025

Precious mom left us in the early morning of July 18th, at the age of 97. She was born in Glenside, SK, the 10th of 11 children born to Frederick and Marie Jersak.

She lived on the family farm until the depression hit, and her family lost the farm, necessitating a move to Saskatoon where her father got a job at Hamp's Cycle.

Mom attended Pleasant Hill School, then Bedford Road Collegiate. After high school she became the only one of her 10 siblings to attend and graduate university, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (with honors). Shortly thereafter she met her husband to be, Lewis and they were married on July 19th, 1950. They had 3 children, Ron, Barbara, and Kevin (Cynthia). Even with her health problems mom was always a joy to be around (except for her irritating habit of winning Scrabble in the last 3 turns).

Mom was pre-deceased by her husband Lewis and all of her 10 siblings. She is survived by her 3 children, 6 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Many, many thanks to ALL the staff at the Saskatoon Convalescent Home for your kind, respectful care of mom over the last 6 years (and dad's care before that).

As per mom's clearly stated request there will be no funeral service. A small gathering will take place at the interment where prayers will be said. You will be missed more than you will ever, ever know precious mom.
