It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Guangli Xu on November 4th, 2026, at Royal University of Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, at the age of 96.
Guangli was born in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. She began her career as a nurse, and later on became an oncologist, dedicating many years to caring for her patients with compassion and professionalism.
In December 1989, she immigrated to Saskatoon, where she earned her acupuncture license and continued helping others through her practice. She was also an active member of the Chinese Wellness Society and was well respected by all who knew her.
She leaves behind her loving children: 1. Rosa / (Tim Shepherd), 2. Juliet (Glen Long) 3. Manning Luo (Yoshiko Luo-Tatebe). She is also survived by grandchildren Anthony, Marcus, Hugh (Taliya Luo-Tatebe), Mona, Jay, Sage and great grandchild Kaisuke.
After retirement and following the passing of her husband, Dr. Jianan Luo, Guangli lived independently for many years. Four years ago, she moved in with son Manning and Yoshiko, where she was surrounded by love, laughter, and energy of her family. Those years brought her great happiness. She was deeply loved by her daughter in law, grandchildren and great grandson, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Guangli will be remembered for her kindness, dedication, wisdom and lifelong commitment to helping others. She touched many lives through her work, her friendship, and most importantly her love for her family.
She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
