It is with profound sadness yet immense gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Guy Joseph Leon Lepage, fondly known as Guy Lepage Sr. Born on May 15, 1932, in the close-knit community of St. Denis, Saskatchewan, Guy departed this world on March 4, 2026, at the age of 93. He breathed his last at Glengarda Hospice, surrounded by the deep love of his family, with his son by his side.
Guy was supercharged and fully alive. His life, a tapestry woven with dedication to his family, faith, and community. The son of Zenon and Rose (nee Denis) Lepage, Guy grew up in a household that valued kinship and community service. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Agnes Lepage, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. Although Agnes left this world in 2015, she remained forever in Guy's heart, her yodelling and their children's harmonious voices, a cherished memory on long family trips.
Together, Guy and Agnes raised seven children: Marg (Daryl) Zoerb, Guy Jr., Ron (Venay) Lepage, Lorraine (Rick) Zerr, Lilly Sinoski (daughter-in-law), Rita (Garry) Rodgers, and Lucie (Kevin) Liesch. His legacy extends to 21 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren, each a testament to his enduring love and guidance.
Guy is survived by a large and loving extended family, including his sisters Albertine Simonot, Lucille (Wally) Hyshka, Yvette (Armand) Gaudet, Marie-Rose (Raymond) Bussiere, Sylvianne Lepage (Harry Jonasson), Monique Bussiere, Nicole Lepage (Michel Gaudreau), and sister-in-law Ella and brothers Gerard (Joan Braaten), Albert (Delores Gosselin), and Paul (Linda Wall).
Guy's professional life was as varied as his interests. He served as superintendent of National Grain Elevators, real estate agent, car salesman, and pursued self-employment, demonstrating his carpentry skills, by building numerous homes on Vancouver Island with his family. His work was a reflection of his dedication to hard work and commitment to creating a better life for those he loved.
A man of deep faith, Guy was a cherished member of St. Paul's Co-Cathedral, where he drew inspiration from the wisdom of Father Penna. He was known for his compassion and love for all people, often extending a warm welcome to new Canadians and often greeting mothers and delighting in the innocence of their children during his long walks. He was known to give a few “high fives” to many of them.
Guy's life will be celebrated at a funeral service on March 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Parish, located at 535 - 8th Street E, Saskatoon, SK. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the St. Paul’s Co-Cathedral Building Fund or Glengarda Hospice, organizations that were close to his heart.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and volunteers of Glengarda Hospice for their unwavering support and compassionate care. Special thanks to cousin Andree Lepage, Aunty Lucille for their immeasurable devotion and love, Aunty Yvette for her comforting "hot shaves," Aunty Albertine for her meaningful visits that left him peaceful and happy. Uncles Gerard and Johnny for their faithful companionship to Sunday Mass and various outings.
Guy Lepage Sr. was a man whose life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and family. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him, and his memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those he touched. We are inspired by the love of his siblings and all those who cared and visited him. We thank God for His love, which made Guy's life such a beautiful journey.
