It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of my beloved husband and dearest partner for 51 years, Harvey Nichvolodoff Allyn.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah (Debbie); sister, Lenore Tekanoff and nephews Rory (Elata) and family, and Reese (Helen) Tekanoff; close cousins Elizabeth and David Wheeler and families.

Also, Brothers-in-law, Robert (Caprice) Toporowski and family; Bart (Bonnie) Toporowski and nephew, Kyle (Kendra) Toporowski and family; niece, Kaitlyn (Anson) Toporowski; Terry and Mark Toporowski. Harvey had 7 other nieces, 5 great nieces, 1 step-niece and 8 great nephews.

Harvey was predeceased by his parents, Olive and Sam Nichvolodoff, brother, Robert Nichvolodoff, brother-in-law, Allan Tekanoff, parents-in-law, Stella and Joseph Toporowski and other close family members.

Harvey, also, had a very large extended Toporowski and Klima family and enjoyed fully participating in the many family events over the years. He was notably close to his wife’s deceased uncle, Peter Klima.

Harvey had a special very close friendship with Subhas (Mona) Maharaj and family and looked forward to his weekly conversations and visits with Subhas.

Harvey grew up on a farm near Krydor, Saskatchewan. He completed high school in Blaine Lake before furthering his education at Moose Jaw and the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. He would always return to the farm on his days off or breaks in his education to help his parents for many years.

Harvey was an intellectual and quiet man with a lifelong commitment towards family, education, and achievement. His education/career profile included: Diploma in Business Administration (Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan); Bachelor of Science; Bachelor of Education; Advanced Certificate in Science; Master of Education (University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon); Certified Investment Manager; and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute.

Harvey had over 25 years of human service experience as a teacher, counsellor, and Registered Psychologist. He worked in many schools across Saskatchewan. He was a sessional lecturer at the University of Saskatchewan teaching courses in counselling, psychotherapy, and psychology.

Harvey pursued interests in research, investment management and consulting. He was particularly interested in developing partnerships for innovation in the oil field process, and prospector partnering in resource exploration. These interests involved travelling to many conferences and workshops across Canada.

Harvey served as an executive board member of the Canadian Institute of Synchrotron Radiation for several years. He was a long-term member of the Saskatoon Doukhobor Society and served on the Board there.

He had memberships in the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists, Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy, & Petroleum, Canadian Well Logging Society, Saskatoon Nature Society, the Saskatoon Symphony, Saskatoon Jazz Society, and Persephone Theatre.

Harvey had a keen interest in International Dancesport (Standard and Latin dancing) and, with his wife, took private lessons several times a week for eight years. They attended many professional workshops and dance events across Canada and U.S.A.

Harvey loved his annual fishing trips to Lac Des Illes in the summers. Nothing made him happier than sitting at the back of the boat gazing at the water with a fishing rod to catch the biggest fish. This was his relaxation from a busy agenda.

Harvey was an inspiration to his wife, family, and people whose life he touched. He absolutely loved life and it was heart breaking to witness his health struggles in the past two and a half years. He always expressed a positive attitude in doing his part to overcome the health setbacks, always more concerned about their impact on his wife and others.

For exceptional care and professionalism, a special thank you is extended to Dr. Nayyer Iqball, Dr. Nassir, Dr. Kevin Ledding, and all the medical staff at Royal University Hospital. Additionally, a special thank you to all the staff at Luther Care home.

As per Harvey’s request, there will be no funeral. Invited family and friends will gather at the Columbarium, St. John’s Cathedral, with a memorial luncheon to follow.

Rest in peace, Sweetheart. Our love will last and never die,

You will live in the hearts of your wife, family, and friends forever.
