HAZEL HORBAL

1941 - 2021

It is with deep sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved Mother and Grandmother who passed peacefully at home with family by her side April 6, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Maurice; parents Edwin and Wilmena Floata; siblings, Linda Smith, Hank and Lawrence Floata. Mom was born in Tisdale on June 28, 1941.  She grew up in Bjorkdale , SK and later moved to Prince Albert to work and where she met and married our dad.  They eventually settled in Saskatoon to raise their family.  Mom had a great sense of humour and loved to share stories from her childhood.  She remained close to her 4 sisters throughout her life. During holidays and special occasions, we all looked forward to her iconic cabbage rolls and perogies. She loved to read, paint, travel, watch CNN and curling, but most of all, spending time with friends, family and grandchildren.  Left to mourn her passing are her children Debbie (Greg) and Tracey (Patrick); grandchildren, Kaitlin, Amy and Sean; siblings, Elise, Marion , Alice and Gordon and good friend Molly. Thank you to the palliative home care nurses. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Canadian Cancer society.
