Hazel Start

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Hazel Margaret Start, born in Lestock, Saskatchewan. She passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025.

Hazel was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher and friend.

She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years Glen, her parents Lillian and Harvey, her brother Harvey and sister-in-law Donna.

Hazel is survived by her daughters Denise (Byron), Lynda (Lawrence), brother Garnet (Audrey), grandchildren Samantha, Kaci (Bradon), Alexandria (Russel), Jesse (Phoebe), Eddy and Emily, great-grandchildren Oliver, Justice, Zach, Anastasia and Eliza. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews.

Hazel was a dedicated teacher, proud Lion's Club member and a loyal Saskatchewan Roughriders fan. She enjoyed camping, curling and many other hobbies. Her strengths, kindness and love for family and community will be deeply missed.

A memorial service for Hazel will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday April 12, 2025 in the auditorium of Elim Lodge (1123 Moss Avenue, Saskatoon)
