Helen Bernice (nee Ness) NYULI
January 5, 1932 - January 30, 2025

Helen Bernice Nyuli passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025 after a long and courageous battle with dementia. Mom was born in Bromhead, Saskatchewan to Thorvald and Julia Ness. She was predeceased by her husband Christopher (1990), her son Orene (2015), her parents, her brothers Alfred and Clifford, and her sisters Irene, Gladys, Delores, and Agnes.

Mom was feisty and fun, and will forever be remembered for her love of family, music, a good party, her sense of humour, her kindness that shone through even as the disease progressed, and her overall 'joie de vivre'. To our family she was grace and strength personified. She was our rock.

She is survived by her children Deborah, Brenda, Valerie (Allen), and Darrin, her grandchildren Corene, Greg. Carolyn, Jana, Megan, Kelsey, Brandon, Jordyn, Dawson, and Zaydin, and her great-grandchildren Caeleb, Hayden, Burton, Gage, Rosie and Remy, who will cherish the memories of a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother's love and light that still flickered despite the dementia. "Sometimes the strength of motherhood is greater than natural laws" (Barbara Kingsolver).

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Oliver Lodge who lovingly cared for mom in her final years.

"Mom, we love you always. Your "momisms' will live on in each of us.

"May flights of angels carry you home" (unknown).

A private family celebration to honour mom will be held at a later date.
