Helen Wozny

With great sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Helen is lovingly remembered by daughters Gladys (Bob) and Margie; grandchildren Kristen (Kelly), Lea (Simon), Ry (Vicky); and great grandchildren Romy, Noah and Alex. She is predeceased by husband Walter, son Tommy and three brothers and four sisters. Helen was born in the Krydor district. Life on the farm instilled in Helen a fierce independence, a strong work ethic, a deep Catholic faith and a prolific self taught creativity. She met her future husband Walter at a Barn Dance and they married in Toronto in 1943. They returned to Saskatchewan and settled in North Battleford to work and raise a family. Helen worked at the Dietary Department for over 30 years at BUH. She loved making crafts and excelled in knitting complicated sweaters. She was known for her tasty cinnamon buns and bellie fillers.
