Hendrik Hofstra

Hendrik (Henk) Hofstra passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December11, 2018 at City Hospital with family at his side. He leaves to mourn his 6 children Wayne (Delores), Jerry (Betty), Rod (Grace), Ken, Tim (Jolene), Tony (Jennifer), 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many other relatives throughout Canada and Europe. He was predeceased by his parents Wiebe and Aaltje Hofstra, brother Sjerp (Gerry) Hofstra, sister Lies Van Der Goot, another brother Henk, his wife Antje (Ann) and daughter Loretta.

Henk came to Canada in 1955 to start a new life. His adventure went from coast to coast and eventually stopped in Saskatoon where he found steady work but most importantly where he met his future wife Ann. He loved working in the sheet metal trade and eventually became part owner of Atlas Industries in 1974 and retired in 2013 after spending 52 years in the same shop. He spent his retirement doing the things he loved gardening, woodworking, traveling both in Canada and Europe. Most importantly spending time with family especially with the grandchildren and great grandchildren as he always had a soft spot for kids.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Saskatoon funeral home, 338 4th avenue north.
