Herbert "Doug" Douglas Forbes

It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Herbert Douglas “Doug” Forbes on October 12, 2026.

Doug grew up in Semans, Saskatchewan, before moving to Saskatoon, where he would spend much of his life.

An avid reader, Doug enjoyed losing himself in a good book. He had a lifelong love of animals, particularly his beloved dogs, Bandit and Buddy. He also had a special place in his heart for bears and was a strong believer in their protection and conservation.

Doug is survived by his wife, Louise, stepson David; his daughter Terri (Rob), granddaughter Kirsten (Cameron), and great-grandson Sebastien; his daughter Susan and grandchildren Ellie, Adelyn, and Dylan.

He is also survived by his brother, Don; his nieces and nephew, Annette, Vanessa, and Michael; and their families.

Doug was predeceased by his son, David, and his parents, John and Sarah Forbes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Doug’s memory to St. Paul’s Hospital Palliative Care
