It's with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jackson Roy Hancock on August 13, 2026, at the age of 99. He was surrounded by the love and support of his daughter and granddaughter.
Born on June 13, 1927, in Regina, Saskatchewan, Jackson lived a long and fulfilling life marked by hard work, creativity, and a deep love for family, animals, and the land. He married his first wife, the mother of his four children, in 1951 and worked tirelessly to provide for his family throughout his life.
Jackson began his career with Saskatchewan Wheat Pool at the age of 21 in Kinistino, Saskatchewan. In 1965, he transferred to the Weyburn area, where he continued his career. He dedicated more than 30 years of service to Saskatchewan Wheat Pool before retiring. Following retirement, Jackson continued working with the Rural Municipality of Midale. Jackson had a lifelong love of animals and took great pride in his hobby farm. He was an avid gardener who enjoyed spending countless hours tending his garden and watching things grow.
After the passing of his third wife in 2014, Jackson moved to Saskatoon to live with his daughter. During those years, he enjoyed many adventures with her, including road trips, camping excursions, and visits with family and friends. These travels created lasting memories and gave Jackson the opportunity to continue doing what he loved most: spending time with the people who meant the most to him.
He was also a gifted craftsman with an incredible ability to build almost anything. From small wooden airplanes, wishing wells, and a miniature grain elevator to small yard projects, Jackson's skill, patience, and attention to detail were admired by all who knew him.
Above all, Jackson treasured time spent with family and friends. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, strong work ethic, and willingness to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed.
Jackson was predeceased by his parents, three wives, two sisters, one grandson and three cherished great-grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his children,12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 3 nieces, extended family, and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
Jackson's legacy lives on in the values he shared, the memories he created, the many things he built with his hands, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, a Humane Society of your choice or Animal Rescue.
Celebration of life will be held June 13, 2027 further information to come.
