James Taylor "Jimmy" Filshie, age 66, passed away on September 7, 2025, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Born on September 27, 1958, in Toronto, Ontario, Jimmy brought joy and laughter to those around him throughout his life.

Jimmy was a man known for his vibrant personality-talkative, funny, joyful, and endlessly positive. He had a remarkable gift for storytelling; whether gathered with family or chatting with friends online, he always seemed to have a tale ready to share. His stories weren't just entertainment-they were windows into his experiences and reflections of the deep connections he held with those around him.

He shared many years of his life with Monica Sayies. Though their marriage eventually ended, she continued to carry the Filshie name. They still remain close even after that, being close friends. Together they raised two sons, Matthew Filshie and Jake Filshie. Jimmy also embraced three daughters - Kylee Lucier, Savannah Sayies and Sierra Sayies-who were part of the extended family he cherished deeply. And for his two brothers John and Jerry, spending a lot of time with them when he could.

Family was at the heart of Jimmy's world. He found joy in spending time with his children and treasured every moment shared with them. His bond with Matthew and Jake was especially close; their connection ran deep and was profoundly felt during his final moments. The family remained by his side for hours after his passing-a testament to the love they held for him and the difficulty of saying goodbye.

Jimmy's passions extended beyond family life. He loved gaming with friends-often connecting through calls that bridged distance and time zones-and enjoyed biking through the outdoors. His loyal dog Sadie was a constant companion on many of these adventures. Whether it was a quiet evening at home or a lively conversation online, Jimmy found ways to stay connected and keep moving forward.

His presence brought light into every room he entered. Those who knew him will remember not only his humor but also his resilience-the way he faced life's challenges with optimism and strength.

A Celebration of Jimmy's life took place in Saskatoon on September 7, 2025. Though he is no longer physically present, the stories he told and the love he gave continue to echo in the hearts of those who knew him.

May his memory bring comfort to all who loved him.
